With a collection of over 25 pieces of exquisite ceramic creations never seen before in the public eye, this is a continuation of the artist’s life-long journey in expressing beauty through the elusive medium of clay. For Donald-Eric, each artwork is a synthesis of moments –– the result of perfecting the artistry of working with the notoriously difficult material of porcelain clay –– from kneading, centering and throwing the clay on the wheel, to the painstaking trimming, decorating and the final firing of the vessel to 1,200 degrees. The result of all these moments is revealed only when the kiln door is finally opened –– to reveal a masterpiece that is distinctive in its form and surface, and delectable to sight and touch ... and a style that is uniquely Donald-Eric Lim’s. “Synthesis of Moments” will be held from 18th to 30th September 2008, at Art2 Gallery, 140 Hill Street, #01-03, MICA Building, Singapore.
